The entire procurement of groundnuts will be done by Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation










Various farmer oriented decisions are being taken by the state government at present. Under this, in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today, the state government has approved the purchase of groundnuts at support prices. The state government has announced to start buying groundnuts at a support price of Rs 1,055 per quintal. As well as the matter of online registration will be decided by meeting.






Arrangements at all the centers so that the farmers do not get in trouble






In this regard, Supply Minister Jayesh Radadia said that the Cabinet has decided to support the purchase price of groundnuts. The entire operation of which will be done by Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation. The State Civil Supplies Corporation has been procuring peanuts for two years, and will act as the nodal agency. The groundnuts will be procured at a support price of Rs 5,275 per quintal. Arrangements have been made at all the centers so that the farmers do not get in trouble. At present, distribution of foodgrains at concessional prices is also underway.






Peanut cultivation in 20 lakh 65 thousand 316 hectares in the current year






Due to the universal rainfall throughout Gujarat, a total of 95.51 per cent planting has been recorded this year. A total of 84 lakh 48 thousand 297 hectares have been planted in the state. It also has the highest peanut cultivation. Peanuts have been planted in a total of 20 lakh 65 thousand 316 hectares while cotton has been planted in 22 lakh 77 thousand 104 hectares. While cereals have been planted in a total of 13 lakh 47 thousand 54 hectares, pulses in 4 lakh 36 thousand 378 hectares. As many as 120.65 per cent of oilseeds have been planted.
